SUNSTROKE CLASSIC CHAMPS

The girls played two games today. The morning game vs Elk Grove Vortex, the Rage won 6-0, setting them up for the championship game against Stockton Fast and Furious.

LandPark Rage takes the championship in the 1-nil game. It was a tough day on the field for the Rage, they played hard and never gave up thus the victory was theirs.

We missed most of our nephew's birthday party due to the soccer tournament, but we were at the party in time for the pinata, cake and to see Donovan open presents. I mangaged to get a few pictures of the girls playing in the water feature.

it's a Rage Weekend

Bianca's soccer team - LandPark Rage - played in the Folsom Classic Soccer Tournament. We were in the Red Division under 12's... Saturday it was 105 in Folsom. The girls played great. They beat Prospector 2 Extreme 3-1 @ noon and then we had a break til 5 o clock. They beat California Rush Invasion 5-2. Bianca had two good games, she played left mid field both games, so she ended up with two assists, and a couple shots on goals - just no goals....

Sunday we played @ 9 am - and lost to Folsom Extreme 1 - nil.... So instead of playing for 1st place we ended up playing for 3rd place. We played Placer Spirit and beat them 2-1.... Bianca was playing left midfield the first game and the second game she got to play some right forward, some left middle and some left forward - she actually scored a goal.... only to have it taken away because a girl from the other team picked it up while she was in the goal, after it crossed the line and she threw it out - it was strange how the play unfolded.... it was a lot of girls all kicking for the goal, and a lot of bodies blocking the shots and finally Bianca's shot which a random Placer girl decided to stop it with her hands while behind the line of the goal.. anyhow the center judge talked to the lineswoman... and then after some debate he gave us a penalty shot instead of giving the guilty party a red card and us the goal.. anyhow it didn't matter cuz the penalty kick went in and we were good to go... The girls got really nice trophies.....

okay now the mama's posts on the weekend... Twins are difficult unless you're at home or somewhere we have boundaries.... a park... a soccer field - it's all open range for them... they wanna explore, they want to roam like wild dogs, they don't want to watch soccer, they don't want to let you watch soccer..... the MIL went to the games on Saturday, but it didn't make it that much easier.... Sydney and Peyton think they need mama all the time and no one else does for them.... we got them leashes... well a monkey and doggie backpack deal... lets not pretend... it's still a leash, and it works better on dogs.... cuz the kids still want to do what they want to do. My sister came a lil late to game one.... she helped out with the kids too.. So yes.. three of us and it was still hard. Sydney and Peyton have a friend at the games - Kimberly, she's 7 months old, they love to kiss and hug her. There are lots of potential friends at the games... but seldom do they want to go out on a limb to make a new one.... it takes them a long time to warm up even to the old ones.... once they get on a roll, they will give you high fives til your hards are sore and talk your ear off... after game one, we all loaded up - Ben, MIL, Bianca, Jade, Sydney, Peyton, Amy and me.... and headed for Ruby Tuesdays for some grub.... it was just what we needed, AIR CONDITIONING and ice water.... The babies fell asleep and slept all thru the food. I had the garden bar and two mini turkey burgers - delicious - the strawberries were amazing.... so sweet - the babies woke up and ate before we headed back to the park - minus my sister who bailed on game number two.... So it was down to grandma and me to watch the babies... Game two wasn't as bad.... the girls played in their stroller, using it as chairs, they clapped and watched some of the game, ate grapes with the soccer girls, ran onto the field a couple times..... I was ready for a nap. after the game, everyone showered and was ready for bed, but of course by then it was 11 pm......

7 am came to soon, of course 3 am came sooner when i nursed a baby back to sleep, and then 5 am came and someone else was thirsty... and then at 7 I had to get ready and the babies just wanted to sleep some more. We made a starbucks run on the way to the game.... the girls were dressed pretty in pink and brown - and sitting nice in the stroller while mama got stuck setting all her stuff up.... Peyton drank all her chocolate milk.... and Sydney decided it would be funny to dump hers all over Peyton.... and she did... and ben didn't bring the xtra set of clothes I set out for them.... so they looked like walmart babies, stained, dirty and wet.... yeah... picture perfect... Amy and Tyler showed up fashionably late and helped with the babies.... they were pretty good.. spilling water and playing in the ice - and it was cooler today. after the game we hit the baby gap to buy the girls something to wear since they were dirty and stained.... and then Applebee's - the worst service in the world... and the worst food... two strikes... Sydney threw a fit at the resturant, after way to much screaming and crying I took her for a walk and to the car where she nursed and honked the horn... finally we headed back to eat... after that we went shopping some more and then back to the game... the girls were knocked out - HOORAY I got to watch some soccer and have adult interaction

they slept the first half of the game and then they were up and ready to rule the world. We danced, chased dogs, chased our tails, played at the park.....I was so happy when the game was over and they passed out the trophies....

We went to the in laws for Papa's birthday party... we had the yummie Strawberry White Chocolate Mousse cake from Ettore's. We got papa a yellow Nike America hat....

Out to lunch

We met our bestest friends from Denver - Mike, Shannon, Estella and Diego for lunch at El Novillero - it was a party. It didn't take long for the girls to all warm up to each other, we haven't seen then since Decemeber I think. Estella has the vocabulary of a third grader and she'll be three in September. Sydney and Peyton were content with chips and salsa for about ten minutes and then Sydney had enough. She played with ice for the next ten minutes, but she was really tired. The company was the best - even if we were talking over kids screaming and laughing the entire time. Mike got beef tacos, Shannon got chicken tacos, Estella got chicken and fries, Bianca got enchilada, I got enchilada, Ben got carnitas... and the babies ate a lil of everything - tomatoes, olives, salad, fries, meat, enchilada, tortilla, rice, fries and chicken. Mostly Sydney wanted to run around, and finally we let the kids down to play.

Kids Play

Potty Time

For the last couple of weeks the babies have been wanting to sit on the potty every chance they get. Today we were in the bathroom, we had just washed our hands and I was putting a ponytail in my hair when Sydney grabbed the baby toiletseat and told me "peepee" So I put her on the toilet and a few seconds later she was peeing... it was so exciting, we were clapping, she was clapping and saying bravo...

new papos

Sydney and Peyton got some new papos this afternoon. It's so hard to decide. They have so many great shoes.... I really wanted to go to Roseville to Kids Shoebox.... or shoebox for kids.... but Ben wanted to go to Stride Rite and Nordstroms... Stride Rite only carries Stride Rite and Roobez... Nordstroms had the See Kai Run that I like.... but only two styles.. white and red... and I didn't like those.... I know.... Kids Shoebox had a ton.... but I think I may take a trip there soon.. and get some more shoes for the girls.... anyhow... I finally decided on some tennis shoes - Check them out....

Visit with the Pena's

Playdate with Sherri

Sydney, Peyton and I went to visit the three McKees on Friday after work. Sherri's sister Shawn was there when we got there, we all hung out talking, the babies eating grapes and giving high fives and kisses while Sherri was busy making Chinese Chicken Salad. Whenever we eat at Sherri's we seem to find ourselves on the nice kitchen floor eating. The babies love the freedom of walking around the kitchen and eating. Sydney was stuffing her face with grapes and chinese chicken salad. It was grubbin.

After we ate we went outside to play with Sonny (Jordie's kitten) He was so funny. The babies would chase him around, he would dive into the bushes and them jump out at the babies. He was very gentle with them, they weren't as gentle. Sonny chased the ping pong balls and the babies, the babies chased Sonny and the ping pong balls too. When the sprinklers came on Peyton was the first to venture off into the water, then Sydney made her way into the water feature. The girls and their clothes got soaked. We let the babies run around in the nude for a lil while, Sherri was nice and dried the babies clothes, I was thinking since I didn't bring extra's... we might have some walmart babies walkin around.

After the streakers got tired of playing in the sprinklers, chasing sonny and scratching butts, we got them diapered up and back inside the house. They gave Don some high fives and they put on a show for him in the house. They were showing off for the only man in the house ~lmao~

We were gonna take the girls on a walk to feed the horses, but we never got outta the frontyard. We played with sidewalk chalk for awhile that Sherri's neighbor brought over.... Sydney threw dehydrated veggies all over the driveway and chased Sonny around, with mouthfuls of veggies hanging from her lips.

Another neighbor was out walking his pooch Rocky, he stopped to chat and before you knew it... Peyton had his leash and was walking Rocky all over the yard. Rocky was more interested in Sonny than the kids. Peyton loved walking the dog and Sydney preferred harrassing the cat.

Can't wait til next time Sherri. Thanks for letting us come hang out.
